ASD,URBAN BEACH

After a few days of thinking, I decided to use the intersectional situation to connect two triangles with a square in the middle, keeping one another in close contact with each other to save space. The problem was a ratio of one to fifty, but I think the model after this ratio was made a little smaller, so I decided to do a one to twenty ratio. Because of this, it was easier to see the function and connection with people inside the model.

The color of the geometry I designed came from the sea. Because the subject was the city beach, I searched the Internet for some history and information about the beach in the English city. I thought people who played on the beach were all smiles and were happy, so I chose a more vivid color and the shape of fish under the sea to do this theme, mainly to reflect the human well-being.

The function of this design I decided inside was a vending machine, for the summer to come here to provide some convenience. Then there were some chairs and sofas, where people who came and played in summer could take a break in when tired, and people from different countries could also communicate here. I personally like my design.

MATERIALS:Model material I chose the cardboard, the real material can choose some sustainable and environmentally friendly materials, such as wood and other materials. One of my thoughts is to use solar photovoltaic panels, so that the efficiency of resource utilization will be much greater.

After the paperwork was completed, I designed a preliminary building consisting of three elements. After a more limited use of space, I chose to design my design with two triangular elements and one of the other geometric elements. So I conducted another experiment on the different forms of the two triangles. Finally, I decided to place a square building in the middle of the two triangles and reduce the size of the two triangles around.

ASD,URBAN BEACH

The theme this time was to study some of our beaches in the UK, and then put some of the elements of the British beach into their own design. Our ultimate goal was to pick a place in the Granary Square and build a beach hut there for students and tourists from all over to relax or play in the summer as a medium of communication.

I surveyed some of the information on the British beach and found some of the UK's historic small holes on the beach, very interesting. Secondly, I thought the atmosphere should be pleasant because this small building was mainly a place for students and tourists to take an interactive break. I planed to associate colored fish from the sea with very colorful lights at night in the area, from which I intend to extract color and drew different colors on the small buildings I had designed to express my joy.

I developed the shape of the house from the shells on the beach and then made a preliminary paper pattern consisting of triangles. Because I had a paper form stacked from different shapes, I planed to draw three different triangular shapes to recombine and resize, with a guaranteed length and width of three meters and a height of no more than 2.6 meters. My design idea was to use geometric shapes to combine and split, or to move. Each element could stand alone as an object that may be a building, perhaps a sculpture. The outer layer of the building was made of different colors, reflecting the colorful and joyful atmosphere of the beach.

The project's requirement was to make a one-to-one model, and I found that one to fifty was too small to represent its functionality, so I decided that apart from making a smaller one-to-50 model, I would do a one to 20 model of the idea expression function.

ASD,Thresholds,Archway Station

The next day, I went to visit the archway station for a moment and measured the size of the wall and the size of the door which I was going to make. This wall was the path connecting the inside of the subway and the road outside, so I had to design the door to the extent it could be implemented. I found that the paper pattern I made the night before matched the size of the door exactly.

Finally, I designed a folded Z, a concept I came from a three-dimensional shape of a flat pattern that I selected by a variety of geometric shapes connected together. Personally, I personally prefer this idea.

When I took the subway to the archway station, I accidentally went out from a small door next to it and found a wall next to the exit to the exit. Nor was it completely blocked, but that wall blocked the exit leading directly to the big road. So I suddenly thought I could open a door here, and then could go directly. And the size was not large, but also more convenient measurement. So I went to the other side alone to inspect the next day. Also took some pictures of the surroundings. Finally, I was personally most satisfied with this idea. So I decided I was going to do the design of this theme again.

This was a simple sketch of a small part of my place .

ASD,Thresholds,(across from Finsbury Park Station)

Because of my last decision to change my mind, I recently looked around very well. I found a long, very long wall across from Finsbury Station, with a residential building inside the wall and a bus and metro station outside. And there was only a small, very small door, which could almost only allow one person through the door to connect the inside of the residential building and the outside on that one road. I thought this was inconvenient for bicycles and some bigger cars, because people were now using more and more public transport. So I thought in order to make it easier for people to travel, I decided to open a slightly larger door in the middle of that wall, making it easier to reach public transportation.

So I decided to open a wooden door and then connected behind a few similar narrow wooden doors with different angles of inclination. Because next to the bus station, so I decided to build a two-storey building above the door, may not be large, but there could be for people to take a brief rest and recreation.

The function of this design was that I was going to make a small coffee shop on the first floor. On the second floor, I was going to put a sofa for people to take a brief rest. In short, my idea was that I designed this as much as possible to bring convenience to people.

Perhaps because I had used wood to make this design, I felt a little cumbersome. Finally, classmates and teachers also gave me some suggestions, I felt that l could try something for some. I was not satisfied with the final product, so I had been looking for some improvement.

ASD,Thresholds(kings cross)

Because which I chose was on the side of a very magnificent hotel next to Kingscross Tube Station. My idea at that time was because there was a big train station inside the hotel. However, due to the hotel surrounded by the train station. Although there were signs and access to the train station. But I thought it was not very obvious. Visitors were usually attracted to the spectacular hotels first and might not find the aisles so quickly. So I decided on the side of the hotel was on the road to open a relatively large, more prominent door, both for people to quickly found the channel did not affect the operation of the hotel.

I thought my paper model was too complicated. Originally I thought the exterior styling of the hotel was retro and complicated. So I thought the door was also designed to be a bit complicated retro, just the style of the hotel and should be. However, once the door was designed to be more complex, I thought everyone would be very troublesome. So I had been distressed how to better improve this idea.

After some time of consideration, it was not a sensible choice that I decided to open a door at kingscross station. And the door must be open to a great match with the surrounding environment, but in this case, for my actual operation to measure the size of the door was more difficult to practice, and around and this building was very nice, it was difficult to add or reduce what, so I decided to change the idea of doing this project.

The shape of the door was more complex, in fact, not thought well. I would change, try to make the door become simpler. Inside was the measure of complexity, increasing the artistic atmosphere of the door. Because of its practicality was not high, so I was still considering, including it in addition to the addition of beauty or other uses.

ASD,Thresholds

The new topic was to teach us how to measure the length, breadth and height of a place, if measured with a measuring ruler or other tools. We started the group measurement, we all measured the classroom's various distances, all corners, and then came to millimeter values. In the afternoon, we randomly found a corner in the teaching building for measurement practice. I found that although this was very simple, it was difficult for all parties to try their best to do the standards and the errors tend to be very large.

At the same time, I know that we need to draw a floor plan on this topic to sketch out the images we designed, so I searched for a lot of information about the floor plan. There are many definitions of this threshold, and the topic we are doing this time is to open a door on the closed wall so that many people can easily access it.

Dipmap worked well. It showed very clearly the scale and building distribution in each area. In addition to the dipmap, there were many more tools that our students could use. Previously, I liked hand-drawing very much, a lot of things were hand-painted, so when using the Internet was not a lot. Nowadays the internet was so developed that a lot of things could be used for research. After this class, I found that the network and hand-painted skills should be both well mastered. And a lot of information on the web was very fast and easy to download and find.

Some of the minerals and textures in the library opened my eyes. I really like the texture of some things in nature. Some of these stripes were simple and complex, but none of them were the same as the result of nature's own creation. Based on these texture, I could design and thought of many different ideas.

Finally, I chose a derelict triangle on 101 Camley Street. According to its original terrain, I planed to design a large triangular building above.

Because I had a slight change of my mind, the idea was to build a one or more levels of multi-purpose entertainment and leisure public arts center.

Its shape was based on the shape of flowing water, with some curved elements in it, which could be divided into different zones according to its shape. I drew a simple flat inner sketch there.

ASD,Dense City, Constructed Landscapes

Because of my choice of area was Camden Town which neared kingscross place. So I sketched some landscapes in that area. I used to map some of the maps I had done with them before, and the rough areas had been preliminarily designed. These days I had been developing my ideas, I felt the previous idea was not perfect. I wanted to be able to make a large, fully equipped shopping mall, so after careful thought I decided to give up the three conical shapes that were joined together, mainly in the area of triangular cones and rectangular connections.

I designed a multi-tiered triangular structure based on the shape of the foundation, each layer could be rotated. A triangular pillar next to a hollow was a panoramic view of the floor, the top was the restaurant which could rotate inside. The bottom few layers I wanted to design into a shopping center. I wanted to design this area as a series of things, so I designed a small, multi-storey, triangular rotating building next to a triangular base. On the other side of the river I planed to design a great-angled art center with a full-transparent wooden stand bridge above the river. Taking into account the river was not particularly deep, so it should be transparent, so aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

The last day we ended the conversation, we all had different ideas and all had their own characteristics. At the same time, my ideas also needed to be more clear. The teacher suggested that I thought about how to dispose of the rubbish under the big building I designed, and it was best to be able to reuse the rubbish. After the course, I also thought for a long time. After the preparation, I would continue to study this subject and study how to make the garbage reuse.

Today was a very interesting lesson. I learned a lot in group work and found that everyone's ideas were very different, but each idea had its own unique view. Today was the construction of buildings that were glued together with gypsum powder and cloth and then designed in groups. And today was the course about introduction to catenary models and fabrication techniques.

We were going to put the foot of the table upside down and build it up. Finally, we turned it back and let the cloth we set up freely fall into the shape of a building on the table, where people could stay. Unfortunately, we did not successfully drop these constructed cloths, so we finally had to cut the cloths one at a time and reassemble them on the table. Because it was a piece of land, so we changed a lot of ways for collage combinations, and finally chose one of our favorite.

Today's content let me re-examine the building, let me be more fascinated with it. The original building was so fun, there are many different forms to show the concept of architecture. So much so that when the teacher told our team to finish the project today, I was still wondering if today's content did not seem to have anything to do with architecture. But when I understood, I was very surprised.

Perhaps the charm of the building there were many and many, I also had a lot to learn, but I believed my interest in the building would not be reduced, only increasing day by day. I was also very grateful for having met many very interesting people and let me see many ideas that were abstract and made me very satisfied.

Team to complete a set up task. This lesson was very interesting. We had to put together several tables and set up on the four feet of the table, using plastic film and gypsum water on a specific piece of paper as a part of building. Unfortunately, because our group was composed of two tables, the upper and the lower sides of the table were joined together so that the cloths were not separated successfully when we turned upside down, so we cut the cloths together to form a single building.

I really liked the shape of the building that we put together in a collage, but there were not many people that could be accommodated inside, so I think this collage could not be used with a practical building.

ASD,Dense City, Constructed Landscapes

Always thought that the combination of several buildings was not a good design. The buildings that were remodeled according to their roots were different styles, and so far I had not come up with a good solution for bringing together different styles of buildings, which distressed me.

In today's model making, I had separately produced the triangular pyramidal and cylindrical structures that I envision. Based on the pyramidal and rectangular roots, I used multiple architectural combinations and cascading ideas in that area, and many three-dimensional triangles overlapped in various forms. The three cylinders I intended to continue building on the basis of the idea of using large automatic doors based on the trend of cylindrical installation. The current idea of the three buildings was to grow plants and flowers. I wanted to design an artistic area with a panoramic view that connected these two areas to one another. Due to the trend of the river, I also wanted to build a small curved building with a wooden frame on the basis of a triangular cone.

Although the materials were a bit discarded, I learned how to express my ideas as much as possible with limited materials. Very often, as the model progresses, some of the original ideas were changed as the model progresses. Therefore, some samples before the formal model were very necessary.

ASD,Dense City, Constructed Landscapes

Today, we had a photoshop workshop. Before I did not come into contact with some of the photoshop. I was not very interested in some computer softwares.I did not know if it was simple or difficult, so I was looking forward to doing it and also scared.

This topic was about intensive cities and the landscape to be built. It was a challenge for me to each of us to choose a region for transformation and development in London. Because I wanted to set up and reform on the original basis, in addition to its beautiful appearance and practicability, how to use the surrounding environment ingeniously and rationally was also a question that needed to be considered. In particular, how to reuse the original residual building also needed thinking.

The first task of this task was to try to use photoshop to combine and change the maps of a region of London, and to make preliminary plans for what you wanted to design. At the same time, we could also take photoshop for some exercises, learn to operate the necessary steps. In the beginning, I felt very unskilled, sometimes I did not find that there was no solution and I could not cut the picture all the time. With some help from teachers and classmates, I got a deeper understanding of photoshop and more interested in it. This time my initial idea was to choose camden town, an area very close to kingscross.

Because there was a lot of abandoned building in that area. There were three conical buildings, these three buildings only had the frame, the others did not. Plants were planted on the bottom of these three frames. I would like to make the above transformation, the completion of the building,l wanted to let it become a specialized planting plants or a shopping mall. At the same time, there was a triangular conical exhaust area not far from the three buildings.

This triangular cone was full of rubbish and the area that had been abandoned. Beside these two areas was the not too clean long river. One of the ideas I had was to transform this area into an art center. So when I was doing photoshop today, I thought of building a building on the river that connected this area.

In my initial planning, I might have split the triangular conical area and the three conical areas in consideration of the overall implementability. Because in order to meet the original foundation of both of them, on the basis of their reconstruction of buildings was completely different styles, separate than the integration might be better.

This was a preliminary sample model I had done with this area design. Using scrap material as a model taught me how important it was to clearly articulate my design ideas in a limited amount of space and material.

In order to meet the triangle pyramidal and rectangular combination of the foundation, I modified the building to the main triangle. And in the building's exterior to create streamlined shape of the building connected with the conical shape, and should be the characteristics of the water. I wanted to build this all-encompassing landscape art exhibition center with glass all around, and connected the two separate areas together to form a whole.
